MPLS factor calculation

HI all,

I wanted to know how to calculate the MPLS factor. While developing a calibration equation from a calibration and validation set in WIN ISI software at the global eqaution regression tab of the software where can i set the MPLS factor. Or do we perform it at the spectrall pre treatment level. Is the MPLS factor termed as "type" in the equation output file. If so, i am using a math treatment of 2,5,5,2 nd the output file shows a type 1 for all the constitutents.

I also wanted to know if the SECV value is high (9 to 10) for samples with a very high SD due to the wide range of sample data points ranging from 4 to 115 units.
