Forums:

Hi,
I'm new to NIR and trying to get up to speed. I recently picked up 2 Foss NIR units. One is an Infraxact and the other is an older NIRS 5000. The NIRS 5000 has a tranport module which has a glass lens and a swinging arm which covers the sample area with a white backing - see photo. Is this module set up to accept samples in a 1/4 cup such as this - http://www.shopfoss.com/transport14cup.aspx
Foss were not able to tell me anything about this module as it is an old unit. The cups are $380 AUD each so I want to make sure they are the right ones. I'm guessing that these sample cups are most suited to dry powdered samples and are using reflectance only?
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark,
Did you ask to FOSS to compare with sample cup of NIRS 6500? Maybe it's suitable and when i look at the picture I think the sample cup usually use for dry or powder sample.
Thanks,
Sabki

Hi Sabki,
I think the transport modules and sample cups were interchangeable between the 5000 an 6500. They are listed under the same category on the website.
