Hi Johanna, I got a reply from Mr. Ciurczak himself, he explained that it was best to purchase the handbook, I think this especially holds true for your subject. Kind regards, Johannes Moes |

Dear all, I am a MSc Farmacie student from the Netherlands. As part of the curriculum im doing a research project of approximately seven months at a pharmaceutical company. The research project is mainly focussed on NIR analysis in solid dosage form testing and might include powder blend endpoint determination. Solid dosage form testing will include chemical as well as physical parameters (e.g. amount of active, tablet density, coating thickness). I have already found over sixty articles in various scientific journals, but now I am in doubt whether or not to purchase a book. I have looked at the booklist of ICNIRS and on the internet and found three books of my interest. Near-Infrared Spectroscopy: Principles, Instruments, Applications Heinz W. Siesler (Editor), Yukihiro Ozaki, Satoshi Kawata (Editor), H. Michael Heise (Editor) Handbook of Near-Infrared Analysis-Second Edition, Revised and Expanded Eds: Donald A. Burns and Emil W. Ciurczak Pharmaceutical and Medical Applications of Near-Infrared Spectroscopy by Emil W. Ciurczak and James K. Drennen III I would like to know whether or not it is usefull to purchase a book and if so, which one (of the listed above, or another one) would be most suitable for my research. Kind regards, Johannes Moes |
