Advances in Mass Spectrometry Volume 18
Advances in Mass Spectrometry Volume 18
Plenary and keynote papers from the 2009 International Conference on Mass Spectrometry held in Bremen, Germany.

1198 papers were selected from 1505 submissions as talks (210) or posters (988) following an anonymous peer-review procedure. The abstracts can still be downloaded from the home page of the conference (http://www.imsc-bremen-w009.de/TIS/). The organising committee had invited seven plenary and 48 keynote lecturers to present throughout the week. These lectures covered all areas of modern mass spectrometry ranging from elemental measurements to life science applications. The organising commitee has tried to reflect all developments of mass spectrometry in the programme but also did not forget the roots of mass spectrometry in physics and fundamentals. The aim had been to arrange a conference that retains the fundamentals and physics of mass spectrometry but points the way into the future through interesting plenary and keynote lectures, scientific sessions, workshops and the exhibtion. This proceeding issue contains some of the plenary and keynote lectures and gives an opportunity for all scientists, even those who could not attend the conference, to reread them.

The Proceedings is also published as a special issue of European Journal of Mass Spectrometry (Volume 16 Issue 3 2010)
