ABSTRACT:
This short communication is intended to demonstrate the influence of spectral resolution on the quantitative determination of an active ingredient in a solid drug formulation by diffuse reflection near infrared spectroscopy. As model system we have chosen a mixture of the active ingredient acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin) with cellulose and starch as excipients.

Keywords: solid drug formulation, spectral resolution, near infrared spectroscopy
