Authors
Authors looking to submit their paper to the Journal of Spectral Imaging (JSI) can be assured of thorough and constructive peer review and careful copy editing and typesetting. Please submit your paper through our Online Manuscript Submission site, which helps speed up review and handling of your paper. You can also track the progress of your paper through the system.
Before submitting your paper, please make sure you read our Instructions for Authors and check the journal's Aims and Scope to ensure that your paper is suitable and will be dealt with without delay.
Forms
If you need to request permission to reproduce copyrighted material (e.g. figures), you can use these forms:
Permission form (.pdf)
Permission form (.rtf)
A completed and signed Copyright Transfer must be sent when you submit a manuscript:
Impact factor
Since JSI is a brand new journal it does not have an Impact Factor yet, however, we will be working with ISI so that we can be included in their Journal Citation Reports at the earliest opportunity.
Open access
An increasing number of funding bodies are requiring grantees to make their papers freely available. JSI is pleased to support this “open access” publishing and all authors have the choice of publishing their paper as an open access paper for a one-off payment of £1250.
For this fee:
- The paper will be published, as usual, in the journal (marked as an open access paper), but with full, free access.
- The authors are granted the right to post a PDF of the final version on their websites.
- The authors are granted the right to include their paper in institutional and other repositories.
Authors wishing to publish this way should wait until their paper has been accepted and then contact IM Publications requesting open access publishing. N.B. Do not inform the Editor that you wish to publish an open access paper until you have received notification that it has been accepted; this is to avoid any possibility of bias. An invoice will be issued and on payment of this, the paper will be freely available online. The paper will receive the same careful copy editing and typesetting that IM Publications prides itself on.
Subscription rates
Institutional subscription rates will be adjusted according to the percentage of open access papers published in the previous year. When IM Publications decide on the institutional subscription rates for JSI, they will look at the number of open access papers published in the previous calendar year and adjust the institutional subscription rate accordingly. If the number is greater than the previous year, the institutional subscription rate will be reduced relative to the annual increase; if the number is less, it will be increased relative to the annual increase.
