Ian, The Positions Wanted Positions Available section is not a bad idea, but, as a practical matter, I doubt that it will be read by enough people to be effective. The occasional posts of this nature to the main list seem appropriate to me. They are relatively infrequent and do not impair the utility of the main list. As long as the amount of traffic stays at the same level of infrequency, I think such postings should be welcomed rather than discouraged. |

Hi ; Mark ; Please read wording twice you know the meaning well. I do agree with you . Please understand I have mentioned my view . Nothing wrong in it . I felt we may lose one of the member in Asian NIRS Cluster. I want NIRS giant should roam in developing countries where It has very good potential. Think off what the work groups has done to spread the NIRS in developing countries .That is real contribution . |

Howard, we're ahead of you: for once! There is a section dedicated to Employment that gets used from time to time. Within that there are sections for Positions Wanted and Positions Available. I have moved Mui's message to the Positions Wanted topic, which is more appropriate for it. I have also taken the opportunity to clean up some of the older messages that were still in there. Employers and those looking for positions are welcome to use these sections. They can be reached from the top level topics page or directly via http://www.impublications.com/cgi-bin/discus/show.cgi?117/117 |

Venky - I have to disagree. While the discussion group is off-limits to commercial postings, I don't think we can consider a request for employment assistance to be "commercial". As you say, we all know Mui and her enthusiastic approach to everything she does, but none of us knew, until she told us, that she had to look for new employment. Similarly, neither do any of the companies that might employ her, so posting the message, where she could tell her hundreds of friends about it, may be the best way for her to spread the word. As for the question of the US versus Asia, that seems to me to be a personal decision for her, as to whether she wants to relocate. In fact, I wonder if it would not be appropriate to have a section of the website, or of the discussion group, just for that purpose: jobs sought/offered. \o/ /_\ |
