Hello All,
Has NIR spectroscopy ever been used to analyze waste effluent from waste treatment plants, livestock production units, etc. What might one detect in the effluent stream with NIR? Ammonia, protein, ??? More specifically...in livestock production where bedding is used to absorb the urine and waste created by animals...could we use NIR as a QC tool to determine when the bedding material is loaded and should be removed? Just curious.

You should look up articles by James Reeves, of the US Dept of Agriculture.
