Dear all,

This is just a quick reminder that the 12th Scandinavian Symposium on Chemometrics (SSC12) is still open for registrations at the low rate (DKK
5000 for full participants) for another week - until 1 April. It is still possible to register after that date, but that will be at the standard rate (DKK 6000).

Registration is available online at www.ssc12.dk.

In addition to our previously announced keynote speakers (Barry Wise, Eigenvector Research; Michael Jahrer, Commendo Research & Consulting; Gadi Rothenberg, University of Amsterdam) the organising committee is proud to announce a fourth keynote speaker:
Rasmus Bro from University of Copenhagen.
Rasmus is professor in chemometrics and is performing research on most aspects of chemometrics and in particular on multi-way analysis both from a theoretical and a practical point of view. He is heading an industrial research consortium focusing on PAT as well as a master of science education in the same area. He is also heading a research center called CHANCE (CHemometric ANalysis CEntre) that aims to spread chemometrics into new areas. He is the author of a number of MATLAB toolboxes.

See you in LEGOLAND in June!

Regards,
Per Waaben Hansen

The Final Call for the 12th Scandinavian Symposium on Chemometrics (SSC12) is now available at www.ssc12.dk.

Please note that the abstract submission deadline has been extended until 15 February. The abstract submission form is available at www.ssc12.dk.

The organising committee is proud to announce the following keynote speakers:

Barry Wise, Eigenvector Research
Is President and Co-Founder, Eigenvector Research, Inc., a full service chemometrics research, development, consulting and software company. Author of PLS_Toolbox chemometrics software for use with MATLAB. Has worked with all aspects of chemometrics, particularly the application of chemometric methods for chemical process analysis, monitoring and control.
Will talk about multivariate image analysis.

Michael Jahrer, Commendo Research & Consulting
Is one of the participants in the winning team "BellKor's Pragmatic Chaos" of the $1 mio. dollar Netflix price http://www.netflixprize.com/. Netflix is
an American corporation that offers both on-demand video streaming over the internet and uses recommendations from users to suggest movies to other users. He is working with collaborative filtering methods, using a.m.o. latent factor models, Artificial Neural Networks and Boltzman machines.
Will talk about the methods used for winning the Netflix price.

Gadi Rothenberg, University of Amsterdam
Is professor at and head of the heterogeneous catalysis and sustainable chemistry group in the Van 't Hoff Institute for Molecular Sciences (HIMS) at the University of Amsterdam. He works with Structure Activity Relations and combinatorial models and high-throughput experimentation to discover new catalysts. He is developing analysis methods for large datasets and has worked on optimal sampling in batch reactions.
Will talk about application of chemometrics methods in catalysis.

Do not forget to register before 1 April in order to get the reduced registration fee.

See you in LEGOLAND in June!
