I have started work on this project. I am just about to start to see how the repeatability is now that I have crated new calibration with my samples and wet chemistry. The plan is to do 10 repacks of a few samples. The application is Flour Wheat and Bran.

Hi Graham,

have you done any work yet?
One thing you really want to test is repeatability with repacks of the same sample. What's the application?

Noise on optical standards is another thing to check for. And finally user friendliness, particularily with focus on features that prevents routine users from messing up things. I used to manage the Infraxact product line, but I don't sell it anymore, so I guess I may mention that the cup type identification is a really good thing, preventing users from scanning the wrong cup type.

Hello Graham.

My answer is totally biased, as I am employed by Perten...

I cannot say anything about what I don't like, though I put my hands on more than one of those mentioned. It's a matter of fairplay, of course.

On the positive side, one thing I can say with immaculate conscience: the DA 7200 is extremely simple in its routine use. At a pet food company I have seen plant operators with limited school background beeing fully operative on it the second day after it was installed for at-line process monitoring. Several months passed since then and nothing bad happened yet to the instrument. Personnel training is definitely not an issue.

Hope this helps.

Franz

Currently I am starting a evaluation of a few different NIR's and was looking for thoughts on these NIR's. If you have used them I would like to know the things you like about them. I would also what you didn't like about them.

Foss InfraXact
Perten DA7200
NIR Online X-Four
Bruker Matrix-I FT-NIR
Unity SpectraStar RTW

Thanks
Graham
