Hi all,

Thanks for all your help.

I have heard from a number of people directly, offering help.

I also have heard from both Infometrix and Camo that both Pirouette and The Unscrambler can import multiple JCamp files in a single step. This answers my need perfectly. I hope that this may help others who might have had the same question I did.

Best wishes,
Dave

Dave,

Unscrambler can load many single files in one shot.

Dave,

Combination of JCAMP files which each contain a single spectrum to a merged JCAMP "multi-file" can be performed with the commercial software SL Utilities made by SensoLogic.
You can access a free demo-version (30 days) here:
http://www.sensologic.com/english/produkte-download.php

If there should be any problem, please feel free to contact me directly.

Dave

I have a set of small programmes (written in 1993 in QuickBasic!!) by Doug Rutledge (INA-PG, Paris) and Peter McIntyre(University of Glamorgan, UK) which were written to do just that thing you want in a batch operation. They also output the files in a standard format. I may even still have user notes!!!

If you want to give the programme a try, let me know and I can email it to you.

Regards

I usually use spc as an intermediate format for my conversions.

Any merit to this approach in your instance?

Dave, Mr JCAMP is Robert Lancashire of the University of West Indies (http://wwwchem.uwimona.edu.jm/chrl.html), I would contact him if you have no luck elsewhere.

Greetings,

Does anyone have, or know where I can obtain, a utility program to combine individual spectra in J-camp file format into a larger J-camp file with all the spectra?

I have an instrument that is giving loads of spectra that can be in the J-Camp format, but it is very cumbersome to enter the data into a single file using Pirouette or Unscrambler.

Thanks,
Dave
