In FTNIR, you are much more certain about your wavelength accuracy because it is constantly monitored against a pretty stable standard (a laser). This being said, I have myself helped to start up an analyser which was AOTF based and could perfectly monitor 20 parameters in a gasoline blending application. Your application is not that difficult and you should look at other things such as how good support can you get in your location. If this is a lab application, you might consider the possibility to migrate to an online monitoring system later. If it is online, look at things like system integration, does your sample get thermostatised, pressure control to avoid bubbles,...

Dear All,

Can you please explain me what is the difference between FTNIR & NIR? I am looking for a application in Gasoline for analysing some parameters such as RON,MON, Cetane....
I have two options to select FTNIR Analyser or NIR analyser.
Please suggest us which one is more reliable so I can go ahead with one type of proven principle.

Regards,
Arun
