Dear all,
We are a laboratory researcher and wish to select the adequate NIR instrument for analysing substance in tobacca. Currently we aware many instrument providers in market, Bruker, Perkin-Elmer,Nicolet, Unity.
Anyone can provide product features and the comparison of instrumental performance to you?
Regards
Andrew

Hi Andrew,

It is a bit difficult to discuss instrument comparisions on an open forum. If you wish to contact me directly, I think I might be able to offer some suggetions. I have had a little experience determining tobacco parameters with NIR technology.

Tobacco is a pretty well known application. You should be able to get papers from most manufacturors showing performance of their instruments on tobacco. Obviously, you would wish to select the instrument which is "just good enough" for your specific needs. Also consider the location of the analyser (at-line /on-line / lab), and how good a service you can get in your area.
