Hi all
I am a student at Kagoshima University, Japan. I am required to develop callibration that predict Chemical Oxygen Demand in wastewater by using a BRAN+LUEBBE equipment and SESAME software.
My problem is that the software refferences are in Japanese. Can someone help me on how to get English versions??
Besides the language issue, please give me your coments and any input on the matter of COD in the NIR region.
I appreciate your time.

Hi Mjema,

I will ask someone if he can help you with SESAME.

COD by NIR is going to be difficult but perhaps not impossible. I did BOD measurements in my youth (well 40 years ago!) and I think COD is almost as difficult. You need to get an expert to do the reference analysis for you and you need to discover how good your expert is in practice with blind duplicates. You always need good reference chemisty for NIR calibration but for difficult calibrations you need REALLY GOOD analyses!

Good luck!

Best wishes, Tony
