I just wanted to point out other options available Some people prefer to stay close to what they already using and therefore in this case it is probably easier to just use AIRS to command the autosampler; same interface, etc. We have used Labview many times to get data from Bomem instruments; it can be done quickly and well. We have created applications that run just out of the box. As you point out, for someone who is doing it for the first time, symbion might be more efficient. It all depends on the user's 'taste' Quick question: do you know if Symbion will call calibration models developed with Galactic's PlsplusIQ? |

>>Posted by Hector Casal (casalh) on Monday, January 22, 2007 - 11:17 pm: It is also possible to do it by using Labview; however, it may be easier for an established user to adapt AIRS. It all comes down to time spent and cost.<< I'm not aware of a Labview implementation which would run a Bomem spectrometer out of the box. It would require a considerable amount of coding. The advantage of the Symbion software is that it will run the Bomem just fine with full featured support AND be ready to control almost any autosampler you might want to use. Symbion would allow in-line coordination of the spectrometer and autosampler with easily programmable decision making capability. |

One relatively clean way of interfacing autosamplers to Bomem instruments is to use the relatively new Symbion software from Symbion Systems to run the Bomem and control the autosampler. |

We have done some interfacing of autosamplers with Bomem instruments. What NIR accessory and what autosampler are you using? |

Since we are getting more samples we are looking for an option to place an autosampler on a Bomem MB160 NIR. Is there anybody who knows what to do?? We are using the grams and airs software. |
