Dear Colleagues,
I am looking for iformation about mycotoxin patulin NIRS detection in apple and/or in apple products.
I will highly apreciate if someone share his/her experience and/or idea for the topic or some references.

Thank you in advance,
Ivelin Rizov

Dear Ivelin,

NIR spectroscopy is not normally able to detect low level constituents (i.e. less than .1 percent) so I would not expect patulin in apples to be a viable application.
There is no record of patulin or mycotoxins in the NIR Publications database of 575 published papers (JNIRS and ICNIRS conference proceedings)
Best wishes,

Tony
