I am posting my message after consulting with Gary Ritchie. Please read on ... I am Kenyan national. I have first degree in Statistics and currently pursuing Msc in Biometry. I have interest in developing a career in Chemometrics. My problem at the moment is to get information for short courses in this field, specifically in application of NIR spectroscopy in agriculture and or pharmaceuticals. Currently my job is analysis of Nirs data but I feel thatI need to learn more about the new techniques in spectroscopy. I would grateful for any help you will give in this direction. |

Andrew - there are several short courses presented at major conferences on analytical chemistry. In the USA, there are short courses offered at Pittcon, EAS, and FACSS. There are also courses at European conferences, but I'm not as familiar with those. In both cases, the conferences are announced in various journals, such as Analytical Chemistry, and the conferences usually have a web site where you can find out what short courses are being offered. There are also short courses sponsored by private organizations. One of these is the Center for Professional Advancement, which offers short courses in NIR in Europe (Amsterdam) and in the USA (New Brunswick). Their web site is: http://www.cfpa.com Howard |
