The Council for Near Infrared Spectroscopy (CNIRS) will hold its biannual meeting (During the Eastern Analytical Symposium) on Tuesday evening, from 5:30 to 6:30 PM in the Bedminster Room on the Mezzanine Level of the Doubletree Hotel. President Bruce Campbell will deliver a State of the Council Address. Following his address, there will be plenty of time for committee reports, questions and/or discussion. Topics to be covered include: (1) The NIR Spectrum, the Web News Letter of the CNIRS, (2) Membership Development (status and goals), (3) CNIRS Web Sites (Web News letter, Forum, Objectives and Future Plans), (4) The 2004 Chambersburg Meeting (The International Diffuse Reflectance Conference, (5) Formation of special interest groups and (6) Mission Statement of the CNIRS. The CNIRS is the only international member-based society solely dedicated to the enhancement of NIR technology. If you are interested in broadening the base near infrared spectroscopy, you should attend this meeting.
