Hi group, What is the best light source for NIR spectroscopy (up tp 2500 nm)? Is there any light source better than Tungsten Halogen? Thanks. |

Jeyam - probably not, there's a reason it's used universally, and that's because for ordinary use, it's the best source we know of. For special cases, I can think of two other possibilities: 1) Lasers 2) Carbon arcs - but this is definitely NOT something to mess around with casually!! You'd better have a lot of justification and a lot of expertise to fool around with this!! Howard |
