Dear Iyas, If you will send me your email address, I will email you the announcement. However, the procedure really is simple, and works: 1. Download the attachment. 2. In Windows explorer, change the extension name from .docx to .doc 3. Ignore the warning about the dire effect of the name change. 4. Click on the revised file name to open it. Best regards, Dave |

There's no need to follow a "procedure". As Dave says, just change the file extension from .docx to .doc. You can probably even do this during the download process depending on how your browser/computer is set up. There's no point in him uploading another since the forum software changes, for some unfathomable reason, the .doc extension to .docx. |

Hi All, If you have trouble opening the "Call for Nominations-2012.doc", please check the suffix of the file you download. You may have to change it back to "doc", and then it should open properly by your computer. There is information in the doc file on applying for Travel Fellowships for the IDRC-2012 Chambersburg Meeting, too. Best wishes, Dave |

Hi All, I would like to invite you all to nominate the author of your favorite paper of the last 2 calendar years in the field of diffuse reflection or transmission spectroscopy for the Birth Award, to be awarded at the next IDRC meeting. The Conference is to be held in Chambersburg, PA, 29-July to 3-Aug-2012. There are also Travel Fellowships available. I am attaching the complete announcement, with complete guidelines for the awards. This announcement will be posted on the IDRC website soon. Please note the deadlines for submissions of nominations. There is also the notice of special interest to members of the CNIRS, regarding the nominations for an Honorary Member of the CNIRS. Please take a moment to reflect on your favorite paper, and nominate it's senior author for this high honor. And, pass the word about Travel Fellowships for students or junior faculty. Best regards, Dave David Hopkins Chair, CNIRS Awards Committee |
