Jerry,

please take a look at the NIST Webbook:
http://webbook.nist.gov/

You'll find some spectroscopic data there as well. Whether your region of interest is covered I don't know.

Jerry - I followed David's suggestion and checked the Handbook. In it Chris included spectra of benzene, i-butane, ethanol, diethyl ketone, 1,3 dichloropropane, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, m-xylene, 1,3,5 trimethylbenzene, chloroform, methylene chlorice, 1,2 dichloroethane, 1,3 dichloropropane, 1,1,1,2 tetrachloroethane, 1,2 dichlorobutane, o-xylene, acetone, n-hexane, pyridine, p-chlorotoluene, methanol, DMSO, THF,1,1,dichloroethane, chlorobenzene. cyclopentanone, acetyl chloride, o-chlorotoluene, butyl sulfide and 2-hexanone.

Chris did not inlcude the materials you asked for, except that he did also include spectra of synthetic natural gas, which is 85-97% methane.

I listed all the materials whose spectra were in the chapter, for the possibility that you could substitute one (or more) of those materials, for which Chris did provide spectra, for any of the ones you asked for.

Alternatively, you could follow Dave's other suggestion, and ask Chris if he had measured those materials but simply not included them in the chapter. Chris is a pretty good guy and tries to help out, so he may even be able to measure those spectra for you upon request.

Hi Jerry,

If you do a Google search on "NIR Spectra of Gases" you will find several good references listed. The 3rd Edition of the Handbook by Burns and Ciurczak is listed, with a new chapter by Chris W. Brown. Perhaps you can get the spectra from Chris' papers, or directly from him (U of RI).

Hope this helps.

Best regards,
Dave

I think you can use the HITRAN database. It may not cover the exact wavelength region that you need.

Dear All,

Do you know where I can find reference spectra of the following gases: water, methane, carbon dioxide, and ammonia?

Thanks.
