Hi Marijana, If you can't see the *.txt-file, then is sounds like there is an issue with the file format. It should show up and be available for you to select. If you'd like to e-mail me the files, I can help you with merging and figure out what might be wrong. It might lessen you future hardship if we could arrange a brief training for you. If you let me know where you are located, I can see about getting a local representative o contact you. Looking forward to hearing from you -Magnus |

Hello to you all! I'm really happy that there are people that can and are willing to help me. My task is to develop calibrations for several feed in a feed factory, and a small part of it should be my PhD thesis. I have some theoretical knowledge about NIR and calibrations, but I saw NIR unit for the first time, live, a few weeks ago. So, forgive me if my questions are stupid now, but I'm at the very beginning. So, my problems are the following: I have a database with reference values in Excel, then I convert it into *txt file, the next step is Tools/Utilities/Merge with concentrations, and then I have to select my txt file with reference values. However, I cant find it, although I have transferred it from my computer to NIR. Once, I managed to type the name of txt file (not to find it in the drop down menu), I followed the part of the manual for Simplicity: Merge with concentrations. Even when I do everything it says, I can not get a correct database with spectral and reference values. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. People from Aunir lab (INGOT )that develops calibrations say that they can adjust the existing calibrations to our samples (which dont have standard quality, and also, we have some feeds that are not commonly used). Is it possible? What would my role be than? Best regards, Marijana |

Hello Marijana. I may try to help you: I have been working for Perten for a few years an I made some experience, though not really a specialist. Please feel free to write me about your struggles with Simplicity. Best regards, Francesco |

Hello to everyone! I am at the very beginning of the struggle with NIR technology. I am supposed to develop calibrations for feed analysis in a feed factory, and also NIR should be the topic of my PhD thesis. I am encountering problems with the Perten NIR unit, actually with the software Simplicity. Please, let me know is someone has experience with this, cause I am beginning to lose temper, and I have not started to do serious work yet! |
