I am trying to define some absorbance bands in a polymerisation reaction. The only tables I know of on NIR absorptions is the Osborne, Fearn and Hindle book, but these refer mainly to food/agri materials. Does anyone know of any other tables published for the chemical industry?

If you mean that you want some band assignments, send me your e-mail address and I'll send you some text and charts. If you mean absorptivities, that is more difficult and you'll have to go into the older literature. In either case, write a note to: [email protected].

Sheelagh - the new book by Jerry Workman: "Handbook of Organic Compounds", Academic Press (2001) contains, in Volume 1, starting on page 184, an extensive list of NIR band assignments.

There are also spectra of selected materials, in the other volumes. For other spectra, there is also the old Sadtler compendium of NIR spectra.
