Lois - the best source for optical components of reasonable quality and price is still Edmund Optics (www.edmundoptics.com). They started out catering to hobbyists, now they are more oriented to industrial clients, but still are a good source for hobbyists. You can buy small quantities at reasonable prices. When you get to the site, click Products => Optics => Lenses. If you can't find what you want, try using their search capabilities to find specific products or properties, sometimes that will locate what you're looking for, that doesn't come up through the menus. \o/ /_\ |

My son would like to purchase a lens element that is 26.5mm in diameter with a focal length of 53mm and a "biconvex" shape, made from a non-UV absorbing material, probably quartz. It is for his photography experiments which include NIR through UV (probably UV A). Can anyone suggest a source for this? |
