Deadline near for 2015 Goetz Instrument Support Programme

PANalytical Boulder is accepting submissions for the 2015 Alexander Goetz Instrument Support Program and the deadline for submissions is 15 October 2014.

Selected students pursuing a master’s or doctoral degree with innovating research proposals will be awarded a FieldSpec® 4 Standard-Res spectroradiometer or a FieldSpec HandHeld 2 spectroradiometer for a specified period of time. The spectroradiometers can be used by the students for a wide range of field research applications such as image interpretation, ground truthing, materials classification and ecological impact analyses.

Applicants to the Goetz Instrument Programme must be attending an accredited college or university in any country where Carnet documentation for shipments is accepted. Each recipient is eligible for up to $500 to cover the cost of publication fees (if the resulting paper is accepted for publication in a scientific journal) and/or travel assistance for the presentation of an accepted abstract at a relevant scientific conference. The program organisers also request the participants provide PANalytical Boulder with a short summary of their research and results, which will be shared to help promote the programme.

Proposals for the 2015 programme are due by 15 October 2014. Proposals do not need to be of immediate practical application or have a guarantee of success. Priority will be given to proposals that creatively bridge multiple disciplines. An interdisciplinary review committee will carefully assess each submission to make final selections. Accepted students will be announced in December 2014.
