OSC and OPLS

Tom Fearn

This issue’s Chemometrics Spaced discusses both orthogonal signal correction (OSC) and orthogonal projections to latent structures (OPLS) Although these have been discussed before, the motivation for writing about them again was the recent reading of an interesting PhD thesis in which various applications of OPLS are studied. Both approaches were fairly new at the times of the original articles and there is more experience of using them now.
